How Riverside Prints Has Become a Stand Out. Kirschner Has the Know How and More.

Middletown - Riverside Prints, launched in 1987, is surely the most advanced job-printer in Monmouth County.

On a recent in-store visit, Howard Kirschner, Riverside Prints owner and president, showed NJ News Jersey samples of the high quality work he's done for patrons.

He showed us the many posters, custom frames, corporate folders, booklets, posters, magnets for local police departments, logos, business cards, among many more of his favorites.

Riverside Prints is also known for simple fixes or even “reworking” customers’ promotional materials, like logos.

“My customers often come to me with logo requests,” he said. "I’ll refashion [what they already have designed or begun making] into something that looks more professional.”

In turn, customers have said that Kirschner and his team have routinely helped them improve marketing reach.

One piece of specialty equipment he showed off on our visit was his wide format scanner, which handles work that’s up to 44” wide by-any-length. And Riverside Prints has the latest technology required for state of the art imaging output of all types.

My workplace was my school, explained Kirschner, adding that before operating his own shop he worked at a myriad of related businesses, all of which contributed to his extensive "on the job training,” he said.

“I have an artist that orders a couple hundred prints at a time, and she sells them and does very well,” explaining that the machine can handily turns flat art into digital information.

Riverside Prints, which can be reached at: 732-671-8222, specializes in Graphic Art Services and Printing.

Kirschner said his artist-customers like to have their items printed in quantities, but since rolls have a natural tendency to curl, and without first uncurling them, the quality is not as high. So if a customer is in a hurry and there’s no time for the uncurling process anyway, the machine is golden.

Riverside Prints also does output film for the print industry.

“Film is hanging on, amid the technology boom, noted Kirschner.

“Whenever we take on a new project, we don’t stop till we understand the company’s character and vision through and through,” said Kirschner. “We make it a point to know the ins and outs of both our client and their industry.”

To be sure, Kirschner and his team work to make those visions a reality. From the initial design concept to final outcome, his team strives to convert virtually any idea into action.

Moreover, "full finishing service," such as lamination, mounting and framing, are offered at Riverside Prints.

In the early 1980s Riverside Prints' new facility in New York City opened; in fact, the launch represented its entry into “desktop publishing”.

Yet a decade later, in the early 1990s, amid the pattern of new and fast-paced business as technology took off and flourished, the shop's attention turned to film and proofing services.

By 1995 the company began offering wide format inkjet printing -- it now offers "true-match" fine art reproduction.

Kirschner recalled how in the '50s, the original owner started in the industry using hot metal, or Linotype machines to set type. He's been in the business since 1970 and knows everything about it, past or present and beyond...

Kirschner also worked in the newspaper business many years ago and recalled how typesetting involved type fonts that were as large as 50 pounds, known as "Matrix."

Setting type was different then, just ask Kirschner to show you the difference on your next visit.

Riverside Prints, a full service print and scanning specialist, also offers imaging services. The establishment specializes in wide format scanning and large or wide format printing, too.

Though Riverside Prints was located on Route 35 in Holmdel for a decade, the shop is presently located at 11 Lawrence Circle, in Middletown, NJ. Call anytime.
